21 Mar Message from Chief Executive, Janine Kirk AM (March 2017)
Welcome to our first newsletter of 2017. Although only three months in to the year, I am pleased to share with you that we will launch two new exciting projects for this year.
The first project is our ‘Get Into Programme’, in partnership with SYC and the Prince’s Trust International. The program will help young Australians develop their employability skills, providing them with real world work experience to ultimately secure a job.
Whilst still in its early stages, the second project involves a community and corporate collaboration with the wider Bundaberg region in Queensland. We are looking to develop solutions to improve the survival rates of the endangered Loggerhead turtles which are part of the largest turtle hatchery on the Eastern Australian seaboard at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
It is also immensely rewarding to see our existing projects continue to grow. Our Prince’s Lead Your Own Business program, now in its third year, is further strengthened by the support of two new Advisory Council members with decades of experience in Defence. I am pleased to welcome His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, as Council Chairman, and Sean Farrell, Chief Executive of the Bravery Trust.
Towards the end of March, P.C.A will also welcome Lloyd Dorfman CBE, Chairman and Dame Martina Milburn DCVO CBE, the Chief Executive of the Prince’s Trust, to Australia. Their visit will be a great opportunity to connect with our Australian partners and supporters.
Please enjoy our updates for the quarter.
